Nakawa Chief Magistrate’s Court, 2 July 2025: Seventeen suspected vandals were charged under the Anti-Terrorism Act for allegedly tampering with Uganda’s electricity network between 2022 and May 2025. The accused, linked to disruptions affecting critical sites like Nakasongola Military Hospital and Luwero Industries Limited, were denied plea due to the capital nature of the case and committed to the High Court for trial.
Offenses reportedly occurred across Kampala, Luwero, Nakasongola, Mityana, Koboga, and Mubende.
The Directorate of Public Prosecution requested more time to finalize investigations, and the case was adjourned to 17 July 2025 for further proceedings.
