King Fisher, Kikuube District, 1 July 2025: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, represented by Mr. David Mwongyere, joined COSL Uganda Ltd’s skills competition at the King Fisher Development Area.
The contest focused on using positive pressure respirators, vital for high- risk operations. Ugandan staff showcased impressive skills, with top performers awarded certificates and prizes.
COSL highlighted employing 65% Ugandans, partnerships with Makerere University and UPIK, and offering international attachments.
The General Manager noted such competitions inspire employees, enhance skills transfer, and strengthen capacity building, underscoring COSL’s commitment to national content and workforce localization in Uganda’s oil and gas sector.
