Welcome to the August issue of the Energy and Extractives Newsletter, the official monthly publication of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development. This edition highlights remarkable milestones underscoring our commitment to harnessing Uganda’s energy and mineral resources for socio-economic transformation.
We celebrate the commissioning of the Wagagai Gold Mine and Refinery by H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, a bold step in adding value to Uganda’s mineral wealth. The launch of the Nyagak III 6.6 MW Hydropower Dam further strengthens our clean energy agenda, while the inaugural Telecom Sector Power Forum emphasized the critical link between electricity access and digital transformation.
