Petroleum House, Entebbe, 24 July 2024: Energy Minister Hon. Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa met British High Commissioner H.E. Lisa Chesney to discuss UK support for clean cooking, electricity infrastructure, and Uganda’s mining potential.
The Minister thanked UK for REFiT and the Uganda-UK Clean Cooking Programme, including a Clean Cooking Unit, e-cooking pilots in 100 schools, technician training/certification, and appliance standards.
She sought continued collaboration across the clean-cooking value chain, flagged Energy & Mineral Week 2025 ahead of COP Brazil, and invited UK investment in critical minerals.
H.E. Chesney applauded progress, reaffirmed partnership, and announced a UK mining webinar to connect investors.
