Amber House, Kampala, 5th September 2025: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) engaged the Trade and Development Bank (TDB Group) to explore financing options for Uganda’s energy and mineral projects. The meeting, chaired by Ms. Grace Tusiime, Under Secretary—holding the portfolio of Permanent Secretary MEMD, focused on presenting priority projects and identifying TDB’s potential support.
Key officials included Dr. Brian Isabirye (Commissioner ERD), Agnes Alaba (Commissioner Mines), Eng. Festo Lubwama (Ag. Commissioner RIID), and others, alongside a TDB delegation led by Dr. Dennis Matanda and Wegoki Mugeni. Discussions underscored Uganda’s commitment to deepen collaboration with TDB, a regional bank with assets of USD 10 billion, to finance transformative, sustainable projects.
