Entebbe, 18 September 2025: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD) met with New Day Energy Limited (NDEL) to discuss a proposed business incubation hub for petroleum-host communities in the Albertine region.
Chaired by Mr. Robert Tugume (AC/D&P), the meeting reviewed MEMD’s local content initiatives, including SME capacity-building through the Industry Enhancement Centre, supplier database updates, agribusiness support, and collaboration with the Stanbic oil and gas incubator.
MEMD encouraged NDEL to conduct a SWOT analysis, benchmark against existing programmes, and consider structuring the hub as a private entity or joint venture to maximize impact and sustainability.
