Nwoya, 10 July 2025: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development (MEMD), represented by Ms. Shallon Niwamanya, joined the 3rd Annual Oil and Gas Sector World Environment Day celebrations at Anaka Primary School under the theme “Combating Plastic Pollution – A Call for Action.” Activities included cleaning Anaka Town, rehabilitating Anaka Hospital’s plumbing system, and disposing of eight tonnes of medical waste. Waste bins were donated to hospitals and urban centres, and trees planted in schools.
Local leaders and Rwot Acana II, Acholi Paramount Chief, commended PAU and partners, urging respect for the environment and greater community participation.
