Entebbe, 30 September 2025: The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, through its Geological Survey Department (GSD), has launched the PanAfGeo+ Uganda Country Window at K-Hotels, Entebbe. The project aims to enhance Uganda’s capacity in mineral exploration, data generation, and investment promotion.
The launch was officiated by Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro, State Minister for Minerals, who pledged government’s full support to ensure its success. She was joined by H.E. Jan Shadek, Ambassador and Head of the EU Delegation to Uganda, and the Ministry’s Under Secretary, representing the Permanent Secretary.
Dr. Fred Tugume, Ag. Commissioner of GSD, commended the initiative, noting that PanAfGeo+ aligns with the Department’s mandate to generate reliable geoscientific data.
He emphasized that geological exploration and mineral quantification remain central to Uganda’s development agenda.
The project is expected to strengthen partnerships, improve investment attraction, and contribute to sustainable growth in Uganda’s mineral sector.
