GSML Entebbe, 7 August 2025: Metrologists from the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) calibrated analytical and weighing balances, ovens, and furnaces at the Geological Survey and Mineral Laboratory (GSML) in Entebbe.
The routine exercise, coordinated by Mr. Eddy Miiro, Mineral Dresser at GSML, was conducted under the framework of ISO/IEC 17025:2017, which sets global standards for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. The standard requires measurement results to be traceable to the International System of Units (SI) and stipulates calibration at least every six months.
