London, 2025, UK, 13 September 2025: Hon. Dr. Canon Ruth Nankabirwa, Uganda’s Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, has been recognized by the World Book of Records London for her outstanding contributions to community and social development.
Dr. Nankabirwa has championed women’s empowerment, renewable energy expansion, refugee support, and faith-based initiatives, underscoring her commitment to inclusive national growth.
Since assuming office in June 2021, she has steered Uganda’s energy and mineral sectors toward sustainable progress.
Her notable achievements include overseeing multi- billion-dollar oil and gas projects such as Tilenga, Kingfisher, the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP), and the Uganda Refinery.
She has also championed local content, with 41% of contracts for these projects awarded to Ugandan firms, and finalized the review of the National Oil and Gas Policy to align with global sustainability goals.
This recognition affirms Dr. Nankabirwa’s pivotal role in shaping Uganda’s energy sector while advancing social and community empowerment.
