Parliament of Uganda, 12 August 2025: MEMD officials from the Energy Resources Department (ERD), Eng. Musiime Emmer Rava, Senior Energy Officer, and Ms. Justine Akumu, Senior Clean Cooking Officer met with Hon. Herbert Edmund Ariko, Chairperson of the Parliamentary Committee on Environment and Natural, to review progress on consultations for the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Bill.
Hon. Ariko underscored the urgency of advancing the Bill, describing clean cooking as a quick win for boosting national energy efficiency. He also emphasized the importance of raising awareness among legislators to secure broad-based support.
