Nairobi, Kenya, 30 July 2025: During President Yoweri Museveni’s state visit to Kenya, Uganda’s Energy Minister, Hon. Dr. Ruth Nankabirwa, advanced Uganda’s mining interests.
A key outcome was the signing of a Uganda-Kenya MoU to boost cooperation in mineral exploration, development, and curbing cross-border smuggling. Presidents Museveni and Ruto emphasized regional integration, economic growth, and effective resource use.
The visit also yielded agreements in agriculture, fisheries, tourism, and infrastructure. Minister Nankabirwa’s role highlights Uganda’s commitment to sustainable resource management and regional development.
This partnership aims to create jobs, enhance trade, and strengthen East African Community goals.
