Nakawa Vocational Training Institute, 18 July 2025: GIZ, in partnership with the EU, handed over the Renewable Energy Training Center (RETC) to MEMD.
Hosted at Nakawa Vocational Training Institute, the RETC is a center of excellence for renewable energy and efficiency, focusing on medium and large-scale solar PV systems to meet Uganda’s growing green energy skills demand. Equipped with a 10Wp demonstrational solar mini-grid, it offers practical training to bridge theory and application.
Presided over by MEMD’s Permanent Secretary, the handover reaffirmed Uganda’s commitment to green energy education and was attended by dignitaries from across the energy sector.
