Hoima City, 2 September 2025: In partnership with the Petroleum Authority of Uganda (PAU), MEMD hosted a three-day familiarisation tour of the Albertine Graben oil fields for a Bank of Uganda delegation led by Deputy Governor Prof. Augustus Nuwagaba.
The programme highlighted progress toward first oil and socio-economic benefits, including the nearly complete Hoima National Sports Stadium. The tour covered EACOP Pump Station 1, Tilenga, and Kingfisher sites, Kabalega Industrial Park, and resettlement projects.
Prof. Nuwagaba commended collaboration, safety, and environmental standards, noting petroleum’s role in strengthening Uganda’s Sovereign Wealth Fund. MEMD reaffirmed its commitment to supporting community and national development.
