The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has assured the public of continued fuel supply stability despite ongoing global market disruptions arising from geopolitical tensions in the Middle East
The conflict has affected global petroleum supply chains, resulting in increased international prices for crude oil and refined petroleum products.
These developments have subsequently influenced pump prices across many countries, including Uganda.
To safeguard national supply, the Government, through Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) and its partners, has continued to diversify sourcing routes and secure petroleum products from alternative global markets.
These interventions have helped maintain adequate fuel stocks and ensure continuity of supply across the country.
Throughout the month, MEMD conducted a series of media engagements and press briefings to provide timely updates on fuel supply and explain the global factors driving price movements.
The Ministry continues to monitor developments closely while working with sector players to maintain stable supplies and protect consumers from unnecessary market distortions.
