The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development hosted a delegation from Kenya’s Ministry of Energy and Petroleum for a two-day benchmarking engagement aimed at strengthening cooperation and knowledge sharing in the petroleum sector
Held at Petroleum House, Entebbe, the engagement enabled the Kenyan delegation to learn from Uganda’s experience in petroleum resource management, environmental and social safeguards, local content development, and sector governance.
The delegation also toured Petroleum House laboratories and the core storage facility and participated in discussions on the progress of Uganda’s oil and gas projects.
The visitors further undertook a field visit to the Albertine Graben to gain firsthand appreciation of developments within the sector.
Uganda’s team, comprising officials from MEMD, the Petroleum Authority of Uganda and Uganda National Oil Company, shared experiences and lessons learned in advancing the country’s petroleum agenda.
Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration, recognising the importance of regional partnerships in promoting sustainable petroleum development and strengthening energy security within East Africa.
