Uganda continues to make steady progress towards First Oil, with significant milestones being registered across the petroleum value chain.
Development activities under the Tilenga and Kingfisher projects continue to advance, while construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) and associated infrastructure remains on schedule.
Key facilities required to support petroleum production, transportation and processing are progressing steadily.
Government and sector partners continue to work closely to ensure that all technical, regulatory and operational requirements are met ahead of commercial production.
The Ministry remains focused on maximizing national benefits through local content participation, skills development, and infrastructure expansion and value addition initiatives linked to the petroleum sector.
The progress achieved reinforces Uganda’s readiness to join the ranks of oil-producing nations and marks another important step towards transforming the country’s petroleum resources into long-term social and economic benefits.
