Kampala, 1 July 2024: The TRUE project, in partnership with FIA Foundation, ICCT, and UNEP, launched a study on vehicle emissions in Kampala to support better air quality policies. Findings revealed a need to target high-emission vehicles to protect public health.
At the Sheraton launch, MEMD Permanent Secretary Eng. Irene Bateebe highlighted efforts like the E-mobility system and fuel blending program to cut emissions. She stressed the importance of reliable, affordable energy for E-mobility success.
Presentations were also delivered by NEMA, MoWT, KCCA, and others, underscoring a multi- agency commitment to cleaner urban transport and environmental sustainability.
