President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni hosted former South African President H.E. Jacob Zuma at State Lodge, Nakasero, for discussions aimed at strengthening economic cooperation and investment partnerships between Uganda and South Africa.
The engagement focused on opportunities for increased trade, business collaboration and investment in strategic sectors that support industrialisation, value addition and economic transformation.
The leaders exchanged views on strengthening regional economic integration and leveraging Africa’s resources to drive sustainable development.
The discussions underscored the importance of attracting investment into key sectors, including energy, minerals, infrastructure and manufacturing, to support job creation and economic growth across the continent.
The meeting was attended by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Eng. Irene Bateebe, reflecting the Ministry’s continued role in promoting investment and partnerships that contribute to Uganda’s development agenda.
